Dear Sir Paul,

My apologies for having to disturb your good self. I lent you three filing cabinets and these were conveyed by Bobby C., and Jimmy P., from my offices at the main harbour in Campbeltown, Kintyre, to your office at High Park.

There are a set of 10 filing cabinets. I have tried hard to locate similar brands to bring the set back up to 10. But 3 still remain on loan to your office at High Park.

The reason this respectful request is made, is because, when I bought these 10 filing cabinets off of the closure crew at the Jaeger Factory in Campbeltown. At that time, I made a promise to replace the 160 lost jobs ( www.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/1299332.stm )

Sir Paul, you may wonder how the cabinets ended up at your premises?

Shortly after the tragedy in New York when John Lennon was assassinated, the Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police, Sir Patrick Hamill assigned several police officers to watch over your good self and Lady Linda, plus the children at High Park.

I was one of those police officers.

Indeed, so seriously was the safety of yourself and family regarded, that the next Chief Constable, Sir Andrew Sloan actually visited Campbeltown and left our police officers assigned to this daily duty, not to let anything adverse happen.

It is a long time since we last spoke, but your kindness and that of Lady Linda McCartney is one of the reasons I was and have been able to keep the promise to create replace those 160 lost jobs…

With respect to the daily drive on that long and winding road, it was always a happy time as Linda would frequently spot us lurking in the distance, and suddenly appear with hot beverages! You’ll possibly recall how cold and windybit could get up that Gobagrennan Road.

Sir Paul, if you will forgive me, the kindness that Lady Linda and yourself showed, especially when I was following in your footsteps… rebuilding a life with the Old Lookout coastguard station ruin on Davaar Island as a form of therapy atvlosing a job a loved; well the words meant a great deal.
